5 survey mistakes you should avoid
Even with the best tools, certain mistakes can ruin the quality of your results. Here are the 5 most common pitfalls.
1. Leading questions
"Don't you think our service is excellent?" leads the answer. Prefer: "How would you rate our service?" Neutrality is the foundation of a reliable survey.
2. Too many questions
Each additional question drops the completion rate. Ask yourself: "What will I concretely do with this answer?" If you don't have a clear answer, remove the question.
3. Double-barreled questions
"Are you satisfied with the quality and the price?" mixes two topics. The respondent may be satisfied with one but not the other. One question = one topic.
4. Forgetting mobile
A survey that's unreadable on smartphone means 60% of potential respondents lost. Systematically test on mobile before distributing.
5. Not acting on results
This is the most serious mistake. If respondents never see changes following their feedback, they won't respond again. Communicate the actions taken, even modest ones.
Quervey's AI helps you avoid these pitfalls from creation: it formulates neutral questions, optimizes length and structures the survey for mobile.
